University of Bedfordshire: Young people's views on their mental health and well-being following sexual abuse in adolescence (Briefing)

The University of Bedfordshire has published a briefing on young people’s views on their mental health and wellbeing following sexual abuse in adolescence. Findings from a literature review and contributions from 31 young people include: sexual abuse affects adolescents in unique ways because of their changing identity and independence and specialist support for young people who have experienced abuse needs to be young-person centred and have an understanding of adolescence.
