Guidance for paediatricians and other health professionals on how to recognise and manage incidents of perplexing presentations (PP) or fabricated or induced illness (FII). The guide includes a summary of research on PP and FII, definitions and features. Topics covered include: responding to alerting signs; health and education rehabilitation plans; referring to children's social care; record keeping; and training, supervision and support. The guidance refers to statutory child protection guidance in England but is also intended to be applicable to paediatricians in the devolved nations.
