This year, as we draw closer to the festive season, it’s clear that school celebrations are going to be different from previous years. For many, however, there’s a desire to keep things as normal as possible and that includes annual festive performances. Given new lockdown restrictions and social distancing measures, it seems more and more likely that any events performed for an audience will be hosted virtually using online broadcasting solutions. This offers a unique opportunity for schools: we know that parents/ carers often find it hard to juggle existing work/ life commitments in order to attend their child’s school events and hosting a performance online could help schools overcome that barrier, embracing engagement with harder to reach families.
