The Department for Education (DfE) has launched two consultations on national standards for unregulated accommodation for looked after children and care leavers aged 16 and 17 in England. The consultations seek the views of care experienced children and young people including what they think should be covered in new national standards for unregulated accommodation, and how the DfE can make sure that they are high quality and keep young people safe. A separate version of the consultation seeks the views of local authorities and providers. The consultations close on 19 July 2021.
